There are many legends surrounding the Sand Dollar... but my personal favorite is that of the old fairy tale which states that "Sand Dollars are mermaids' coins, accidentally dropped into the sea."
According to the book "What Seashells Reveal About Our True Nature" by Michelle Hanson, Sand Dollars are here to help us understand that we create our lives, and that everything that happens to us benefits us in some way, even if we are not consciously aware of it.
